i'm getting 2 dolphins an a tribal design on my lowerback. My question is how wide an how high are most tattoo's in this area? I want it just above my pants line but some off my friends say it is up too high. personally, I think it is too low!

first of all... unless you are from a culture that has traditional "tribal tattoos" i wouldn't get tribal. it is a trend, or was one in the nineties. get something original and unique. also, the tattoo can be as big or as small as you want it. the tattoo i am working on right now goes from the top of my shoulders all the way down my back. whatever size suits you. but i do encourage you to go to an artist for the work and not just chose "flash" off of the wall. why?
my mom got a tattoo a few years ago (flash) and she just met a lady that lives in another state and they have the EXACT same tattoo. it's much neater when you know that nobody else has your tattoo.

it depends on what your purpose is on the tattoo. I think people getting one get it for serious reasons. And you should really think about why in hell you're getting dolphins and a tribal design. Some people who get a tat don't really show it off, they appreciate the art behind it. So, if you just want to show off a Dolphin tatoo...then put it on high.

1 re think the tribal and go for a water design with your dolphins.
2 your tattoo artist will be able to help you place your tattoo properly. don't Liston to your friends it your body and your artist job. he or she will place the stencil on in as many different place as you need to find the spot you like.

That's funny, I'm getting a treble clef too in a few days when I go to Boston. I'm getting it on the inside of my right ankle, in between that large ankle bone and the achilles tendon. I think it would look sick there. Good luck.
