Anything not called in the same day you were seen is a mistake by the doctors office. They may tell you otherwise, but they would be lying. After all, if you were seen at the doctors office, the doctor wouldn't tell you to come back later for a written prescription.

I only know of it happening if you have no insurance, or money. I once went to the hospital after being broad-sided in an automobile accident and I had no money or insurance I was also unemployed at the time. I waited for over an hour and a half on a gurney in a room all by myself before anyone came to see about me. then they took me to get X-rays, it was a little more than two hours later that they came back and told me nothing was wrong. although my lower leg was hurting and I couldn't move my right arm because of the swelling and severity of the pain.(the truck hit my car so hard it pushed the driver side wheel up through the floor board) they said I probably sprained it so they put my arm in a sling and an ace bandage on my ankle and sent me home. 3 days later they called me and told me that my arm and leg were broken and that I needed to go to such and such hospital, (one that accepts indigent cases), to have it seen to. when I got there my arm had already turned purple from the bicep to the wrist due to internal bleeding but they couldn't fix it it had already set and was healing- crooked!. I later tried to get a lawyer but they all said that the hospital had too much money and that a win would be impossible. I told them that all anyone had to do was just take a look at me and they'd be able to see that something was wrong because of the way my arm hangs out to the side. Now almost 12 yrs later my arm is still twisted because it wasn't set in time. oh and they gave me no prescriptions at all. Now there's a law that says all hospitals have to treat people if they have coverage or not. -but that don't help me any-
