Some of the older Taurus models had a rectangular black box mounted above the radiator on the driver's side. It has a bunch of wires coming out of it as well as a ground wire that screws to the radiator support not too many inches from it. If you vehicle has this take that ground wire off and clean the heck out of the eyelet that the screw goes through as well as the actual radiator support that it screws to. That ground wire gets corroded after some years and that wierd black box has 4 relays in it that control fuel, spark, and several other things on the car. Without that ground it won't engage the relays and start the car. Might not be your problem, but have seen it disable many an older Taurus. Also if the wire is corroded going into the little metal eyelet that screws down on the ground site then cut off the eyelet and corroded end and skin back the wire and install an new eyelet. Amazing how little corrosion at this point will stop these cars from running. Good Luck no matter what.
