Just because a certain religion has the most "followers" does not necessarily mean they have or are the most religious people in the world.
When you say religious people, I am assuming you are saying, practicing Christians, correct? You can be a member of a Catholic church for instance and not be practicing. Does that make you religious? Far from it.

Of the 6+ billion people in the world, roughly 2 billion are involved in one way or another in Christianity, Islam, or some combination of Hindu/Buddhist/Tao/Janism (which allow for mixtures of the others too).
However, when christians kill christians (intentionally left uncapitalized) in the name of Christ, or Sunni and Shiia (Muslims) kill each other, and Buddhists kill them both, then none of these are actually following the teachings of the religion they claim as their own.

If you mean by sheer size of the proclaimants of the religion, then it's definitely Christianity. But if you mean those people who really follow their religion as prescribed in their scriptures, then i'll bet it's Islam.
