Keep in mind that anything that is "all-powerful" doesn't *need* anything.

Ok, then ask yourself this...

If we *didn't* exist, why should god?

Logically speaking there could be many reasons for this. If God exist the most probable answer to this question would be entertainment. I have seen no active involvement from this being in our lives, which is one of the reasons that I am Agnostic, one of the most rational answer would be that we are nothing more than entertainment.

You ask, "If god is all-powerful, what does it need us for?"
The rational answer seems to be that God created the world in order to have reproductions in its own image, just as a seed creates a tree for the production of seeds in its own image. It seems, in other words, that God likes to have a great variety of offsprings in his own image, because diversity is the spice of life.

Finally you ask, "If we *didn't* exist, why should god?" This is like the acorns asking, if we didn't exist prior to the phenotype oak, why should the genotype parent acorn exist? God -- i.e. the phenotype cosmic system's genotype -- exists because it has never been demonstrated that a phenotype can exist without its genotype, or an effect without its cause. God simply exists because the universe exists, and we exist, and the cause of the universe and human beings cannot be lesser than the effects it generates, i.e. lesser than creation itself.

You are right that God is omnipotent, and that means that he does not NEED us.

God is also eternal, and he was before we ever were.

His plans for us were also eternal, our problem is that we got away from God's plan and went our own way; that's called "sin."
Isaiah 53:6
All of us like sheep have gone astray,
Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him.

The Good News is that our sin penalty has been paid.
Romans 3:25
(Christ) ... whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed;

Hebrews 2:17
Therefore, He had to be made like His brethren in all things, so that He might become a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to God, to make propitiation for the sins of the people.

1 John 2:2
and He Himself is the propitiation for our sins; and not for ours only, but also for those of the whole world.

1 John 4:10
In this is love, not that we loved God, but that He loved us and sent His Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Many people believe that God is all powerful yet the bible never makes this claim. Besides, I do not believe that is possible for anyone or anything to be "all powerful." Think on this age old question:

Could God create a rock so heavy that God himself could not lift it?

If you answer yes then you have just demonstrated that God is NOT all powerful as you have just found something that God cannot perform.

If you answer no then you have again demonstrated that God is NOT all powerful as you have just found something that God cannot create.

First it depends on your understanding of God. Then the purpose of our being. We are part of the spirit of the existence itself and our spirit is the means by which we escape the physical collapse of the universe and move on to a new world. God is the capsulated spirits of all plus …. We all contribute to it when we return to this flow. But not all can be part of it. That is why we have to purify our spirit through our deeds while we are on earth. And religions (all religions) show us how. We are the source of the existence itself. The part of universe that can think and understand and feel the being.

We always existed and always will we are spirit souls and our body is matter. God expands Himself unlimitedly to enjoy pleasure pass times with us. In love and devotion. We are his minute expansions with the same qualities but not in the same quantity. He doesn't need us to do what He does He enjoys to be with us and love with us. God is all powerful, most beautiful, wealthiest, most renounced, all knowledgeable most famous Even the atheists talk about Him or lack of Him go to http://www.stephen-knapp.com for universal truths Get the book Universal Path to Enlightenment

god needs us like a parent needs children,
its an introspection ,if you like its as the fruit of the tree ,
god gave us freewill to see how his children would handle things ,much as his omnipotance can do anything so man has been allowed to test his muscle,of freewill we must in the end either be good thus god the tree is good ,or not thus god knows that the tree is good
you believe that we created god ,this is pure insanity ,how can we concieve make anything better than our selves ,the best sculpter ,the best artist allways creates less than we concieve,
our hands at best make less perfect and thus we know of our own experience that as perfect as man may concieve he was yet concieved by one even greater.

God really does not need us at all. That being said, God is also a loving father. A loving father needs his children to show him love and respect. Is this too burdensome to give to that one that cause us to live?

God doesn't need anyting, but He wanted some people to talk with and who would love Him.
That's why following Him is a choice, if He forced you then it wouldn't be love. That's why He has angels they have no choice.

We are not robots.
He just wants someone to talk, cry, laugh, rejoice and walk with Him
