I'd rather a guy be honest with me then tell lies to try to make him seem like he is better. I don't need or want a guy that is "perfect," just someone who will be real with me and true to themself.
Now if the lie was something like telling me he was going to take me to one place on a date but ended up taking me somewhere else, that would be different, but I know that's not what your question was.
