only paintings of you my dear.......it would seem as though your appearance were so attractive that all have stolen your photo to use as their own....but I see through that, I know your true face, those beautiful white round dots, that perfectly symetrical curve to your smile........... (sigh) pretty

Beauty is truly in the eye of the beholder. What you may consider pretty, I might not. You need to figure out for yourself what you like, and the way you do that is by studying art. Take an art history class at the local community college or take some art books out of the library. There are some very moving and artistic paintings that portray humanity in all it's ugliness.
My favorite painting is Van Gogh's Starry Night, which I have seen in person at the museum in New York. It is so amazing, and the dimensional quality of the paint can only be appreciated by seeing the real thing.

depends on your taste. if u like the water and you see a painting of the ocean or something and it's painted with skill than yes it is, but if you hate the ocean or you hate cats and you see a painting of that then you might not think it is pretty. It may be for someone else but not for you.

... it's up for interpretation. "Pretty" is subjective. What I say is beautiful and a masterpiece in the visual arts could be total crap in your eyes. Of course, I'd then want justification, but whatever... I can't tell you what's "pretty," but I can tell you POPULAR artists such as Van Gogh, Monet, Manet, Renoir, Dali, Seurat... what do you like? Surrealism? Impressionism? Neoclassical? Baroque? Modern? Provocations? Gothic? Romanticism? *shrugs* I don't know your tastes, so try some of those.

Not everyone has the same taste and while some people love art, others hate it. I love seascapes and paintings depicting the mountains, especially oil paintings.

Everyone has different perceptions when it comes to art. What is appealing to one, will not be so appealing to another. I've seen some amazingly beautiful paintings, ..and I've seen some horrendously nausiating paintings. It's all about perception of value.

It depends. Some old religious ones are quite gruesome in their depiction of hell. I find Van Gogh to be very beautiful and soothing.
