You definitelly need a title to show that there is not a lien on the vehicle. Age usually dosen't matter because of title loan stores. You need to order a duplicate title. If there is not a lien on it, your state should send you the title. Go to your state's DMV websiteand search for duplicate title, fill out the form, send them the check, and when you get the title, then you can sell your car. The person who want's to buy your car can't register it without a title.

You could sell it with a bill of sale. Some states dont require a title on a vehicle if its X amount of years old. I would check with the local DMV. I believe the buyer of the car can apply for one if need be.

The absolutely free reverse vin check sites generally provide fake information. To get real information, money will have to be paid. The free searches provide fake information so they can get your email address to send spam.

Stay away from shady reverse vin check sites, most likely you won't get any information after you make the payment. Not to mention you won't get a report and you won't get an answer if you try to call for a refund. Stick with a reputable reverse vin check site like http://www.reversevincheck.net that has been around since 1995.

probably not but you can go to your states DMV and get a duplicate title just to be safe. I would not buy a car from someone who did not have a title.
