Yes. Hydrogen is the worst 'cos it explodes when ignited in air.

During charging hydrogen gas is released from the acid,this in sufficient quantities is explosive.This is the fizzing sound that can be heard.

Yes. Hydrogen gas is explosive. Fortunately, it also dissapates rapidly. I avoid charging my golf cart inside my garage for fear of an explosion. I understand that static electricity can ignite hydrogen.
