I have thickish hair, it is not so long now, although I do need a haircut, so any suggestions? (i prefer something affordable)

Try a clarifying shampoo and a good conditioner. Also, trimming up to an inch will make a big difference in the life of the hair. Try adding some layers, too... will add bounce and lift some of the weighty ends.

I just love answering these types of questions because the the remedy is soooo simple! You can spend zillions on hair products but NONE are as good as the cheapest items in this magical recipe for beautiful hair: Do not over-shampoo hair. It may sound icky but no one should wash their hair more than once or twice a week! Unless you live or work around dust and dirt! After shampooing, rinse hair with One tablespoon of apple cider vinegar in 8 ounces of warm water. The smell will leave in a few moments! You can also rinse hair with a bottle or can of flat beer! Yes, any kind of beer that is flat and at room temperature. Leave on your hair. This restores the ph balance to your hair, which is good for it. Once or twice a week, mix half a cup of olive oil and half cup of mayonnaise and apply to hair. You can cover hair with a hot, wet towel and leave in on until the towel gets cold or continue to rinse towel in hot water and reapply to hair as long as you like. Sometimes, you can put a shower cap on your head and leave the oil/mayo mixture on your hair overnight and just rinse it out the next morning. It sounds awful but the results are magnificent hair that you cannot buy! It is always best to "feed" your hair on a monthly basis after you reach the results you want. You will never go back to those commercial rinses again!
