how do you download music off of itunes?

how do you download songs off of itunes and is it illegal because I tried it once and they gave you an option of downloading it but I didnt.

i double click the song but all that does is give me a sample song

Nothing that comes out of iTunes is illegal if they let you download it you're good to go

well first you have to sighn in. To do this you have to have an email adress and a credit card.then you double click on the song.
