Sure I tried it, who doesn't? unless your'e not human, cannabis is hardly the evil of all evils, coffe is pretty bloody addictive as well, bet there are long term side effects in there as well. Anyway, yeah got whities, but I don't think I'm psychotic, not in the clinical sense anyway. We all get some dodgy thoughts fleeting in and out of our minds, but it doesn't mean your'e capable or going to be dangerous. I think we process our brain thoughts through picture and enactment, putting ourselvs in a situation where a particular vision pops into our mind like perhaps tripping over a dead body in the undergrowth, or witnessing a torture or similar. The media bombards us poor souls with negatives and horrors everyday, even in and especially in the news. You know I read somewhere that as we get older, we should have a commitment to try and shield our delicate inner self from such horrors and what will disturb our good or happy demeanours. I'm not saying bury your'e head in the sand and ignore the terrors of life, and the persecutions. It's just that I find I can sleep and live better by avoiding tv programmes and articles that are unneccessary to absorb. I was told once that whities can be caused by a bad mixture content between c and tobacco, too little tobacco? don't know, or even too much ratio of tobacco, or maybe it,s just crap stuff. But I don't think you should worry about being psycho, plenty people around who don't smoke and are psychotic anyway! But if it gives or gave you bad episodes, better to stay away, I do, at the time, I thought my body is telling me, no!, not for you!!

As a former Union official I have seen quite a few careers ruined by Cannabis and Marijuana use. Mostly good young men that just could not be bothered to turn up for work, preferring instead to sit on the floor at home, spliff in one hand, PlayStation controller in the other. Yes, I have seen friends become psychotic and no, it`s not the safe drug that people imagine it to be. @ Vambo - I would say that the drugs, from my experience, that cause the most damage in society are Alcohol, Cocaine, Amphetamines and Cannabis/Marijuana. I also know a Lawyer that was a Heroin addict for many years and nobody ever, as far as I know, noticed.

Not sure if any medical studies on this topic, but would be interested to see the diagnoses!!!

If you continue to smoke then dementia will settle in sooner rather than later....have not a clue to what 'whities' is, but if you're having psychotic episodes then surely the answer is to STOP smoking weed and find another way to chill!?!

Everything effects different people in different ways so don't think about other people, concentrate on what your body is telling YOU.

If you enjoy getting scared sh1tless then continue.....hehehe A nice lil bottle of red does it for me!!!! X

i would say no and i have had alot of experience in this subject. It's like drinking - what type of smoke did you smoke, how much was put in, did you roll it, was it laced, you ever been sick from drinking to much, cannabis can do that to you (never happened to me though) but i never had a psychotic episode. When you smoke you should smoke at your own speed and take it easy. I've just stopped smoking after 16years, i smoked, on average 8 joints a day, now i have had panic attacks since i stopped which i need medication to control, but thats my problem, good luck see ya.................

ok personal experience yes you probably do have psychotic tendency's BUT you also have a conscience which helps to combat the episodes i know that cos u say it scares u .

i suffered the same way and became extremely shall i say different on one occasion and spent 4 years regretting it so if the "smoking" brings the psychotic tendencies out in you its a good job you stopped. cos it don't help one bit. just makes you even more paranoid. relates to drug overdoses scroll to causes

I don't think you need Search to hard to find studies that cannabis has pushed those with a sensitivity to it into major illness and long spells of hospitalisation
www.medicalmarijuanaProCon.org
society.guardian.co.uk/drugsandalcohol/story/0,8150,1117959,00.ht
news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/health/4218851.stm

The last is a overview of a lot of different studies done by the Dept of Health I think there are many more just Ask.com search "cannabis studies and mental health" without the quotes

You took too much cannabis at one time by the sound of it, or the cannabis had a very high THC content. Some people can't drink, and some people can't smoke, it's as simple as that.

The short answer is no. It is the case, however, that smoking dope does increase the likelihood of developing psychosis.

If you have had psychotic episodes in the past don't smoke dope if you want to avoid further episodes.

i have tried it once and started halucinating! freaked me rite out!
i also once sat in a room with people smoking it and stood up and promptly passed out!
i guess some of us are just sensitive to it.. same as some people react to antibiotics and some dont etc...
but i always think, so much for it doing u any good which all damn addicts try to argue!
