Children may be smart, but there are certain things that they don't need to know until they fully comprehend. Why fill their heads with adult stuff when they have plenty of time and learn more while having fun.

LOL, your answer belies your protestations!
Young people have simply not experienced enough to enable them to have a full appreciation of some things. That is not to say that young people are not smart, it simply means that at a later date you will be better equipt to gain fuller comprehension of whatever it is they deem you are not yet seasoned enough to understand.
For instance, you can describe an apple to someone who has never seen one. You could tell them that they are round, and red, or green or yellow, and that they are sweet, juicy and crisp when you bit into it.
Because you know what an apple tastes like, and what the texture feels like in your mouth, and the actual shape, you have a complete picture to work with, whereas the person how has never seen or tasted one is picturing an object that looks like a rubber ball. You can impart the head knowledge to them, but only by experience will they be able to fully appreciate what you are describing to them.
Or... we know the sky is blue with puffy things in it called clouds. Explain that to a blind person. No matter how you describe it, there is no substitute for the experience of seeing it yourself.
Don't presume that adults consider you to be not smart when they say they will explain it when you are older. Sometimes, even when we think we understand we don't always.
Life is the same way. It is easy to gather head knowledge, but heart knowledge comes from experiences in your life.
The beginning of true wisdom is when you realize just how much you don't know.

It's not that they think you're not smart, you just have yet to experience life as an adult, it's way different. you can imagine, but you wan't know fully until you're there.
