No. In fact, the per capita charitable giving by Jews far out ranks the charitable average giving by other groups. However, we value the idea of giving in secret, so most of us don't make a big deal of it. The result of this secrecy is that we may appear to the casual observer to be selfish. Read this story for a typical example of this way of thinking:

As far as the question of being "Chosen" is concerned I think if you did a survey you would find that many Jews feel that Tevia in "Fiddler On The Roof" spoke for them in saying "So choose someone else for a change!"
Religious Jews look upon the fact that we are chosen as putting additional responsibilities upon us. We are suppose to perform "Tikkun Olam" (repair of the world). One of the ways in which we are taught to perform this is by being self-sacrificing. Just as Isaac was willing to lay upon the altar and not fight against his aged father Abraham, so too we are to be selfless in our pursuit of making the world a better place.

Could it be that the Jews obey a 'higher power (God), whereas the (the majority of) 'Christians' currently in the U.S. do not? God said his people were a chosen people (1 Peter 2:9) also; but many currently in this country disobey him.
So why blame the Jews?

clearly jews are not selfish ,having met a few and having a bit of jewish root in my tree i know them as inteligent if not a bit ,as the bible says stiffnecked ,this possably is the trait god chose in his people for that reason, once the mind is made up it will forever regardless of the cost remain fixed ,so much so when the proffessed and predicted time came for the christ ,it was so sure that the christ would be they missed out all together
to keep the family peace though this was no doudt to gods plan, that the christ be given to all men ,all races ,all people were our old people more flexable it is likely we would never have known of jesus, and his message of love
so onece again god proved to men our own belief to be falible and gods wisdom supreeme
if only now i could convince my brothers ,but i trust we yet again must leave that to god.

Selfishness has nothing to do with culture or race. Has everything to do with who you are as a person.
The Jewish people, as a group here in the United States, funded organizations such a nonprofit law centers so that we all could find equality in opportunities.

We are all chosen by God. They were set aside as the race to keep God's commands and you see in the Bible (their own history book) how poorly they have done so far.
I do not judge them and comiserate with their desire to get what God promised them but they have to earn it at this point. they have lost it too many times for it just to be handed back to them on a silver platter.

I guess you need to tell God that He was wrong, then, when He said:
“For you are a holy people to the LORD your God; the LORD your God has chosen you to be a people for Himself, a special treasure above all the peoples on the face of the earth." (Deut. 7:6 and 14:2).

What a silly question!
Your hatred towards Jews is very apparent, and nobody here is buying your Muslim brand of hate.
Go blow yourself up in a deserted field!

No...and jealousy is really ugly and unbecoming.
You too can be a child of the living God by accepting Jesus into you heart. It's a choice...then you too can be set apart by God.
You've got free will; it's your choice.

no more and no less than any other group. there are both good and bad in each person and since people make up groups there will logically be both good and bad in every group. why pick on any particular group of people for any reason whatsoever
