You hear all these horror stories about seriously damaged hair and ugly orange colors. Has anyone ever had a POSITIVE experience w/ Sun-in?

My friend used it in her hair two summers ago and it worked for her. Actually the only way that she got rid of it was by growing her hair out and then cutting the part that still had it in there off. It's just like regular dye, it depends on what type of hair you have, how long you leave it in for, and other factors that determine how it will react with your hair.

I used Sun In back in the 80's and it just lightened my hair a little ,it did not turn orange or an ugly color. I even colored over it with a light blonde, came out fine, nothing bad happened with it. I never even knew how bad Sun In can be until I heard horrors stories not to long ago. After reading what is in it ,I would not recommend it at all. It actually did turn my aunt's hair baby chick yellow. I guess I just lucked out.

I have tried Sun-In B4 and if you have natural dark hair color like me. *Black* Then your hair won't turn to a golden blonde but more like a copperish orange color. You need a fair good amount of the stuff if you're planning to do highlight streaks cuz the stuff other wise it'll just blend into your natural hair color. Sun-In is pretty much Lemon juice mixed in with Hydrogen Proxide. Hydrogen Proxide gives the same effects as Sun-In. Try dyeing you hair with Kool-Aid. ( ^ ^ ) Me and a friend back in High School did that. You take Kool-Aid and boil some water. Wait til it cools to a lukewarm temp them soak your hair into it. I had a blue black tinged hair color for a whole semester.

Yes. My hair is very dark brown, almost black. I did it very slowly.
Night, after night, after night. To make it look more natural, I didn't to all of my hair. Just the top, then small sections. It took a lot of time, but I did it every summer for years until I could afford to have my hair done at a shop. Test a small section that you can hide. Everyone body chemistry is different. A classmate put a whole bottle on her hair at one time, she had orange hair for the rest of the school year.

I used Sun-In back in the 80's. Know what works even better? Fresh Lemon Juice. Hey- If you're going to put greasy smelly Sun-In in your hair, you shouldn't mind a little sticky lemon juice, >and< it makes your hair smell yummy.
