Actually your question is difficult to answer. Since the total eligible voters in the USA have never voted in any election, it will always be a guess at which is the majority or minority.
Less than 50% +/- voted in the last election. We can guess all we want about how that 50% would have voted BUT we will NEVER know.
If we had a system that gave us a benefit for voting, say a 10% tax break or a 2% increase in wages or some such thing, maybe we could have a clear counting of which is the majority Party.
So until we can shake everyone out of their beds and get them to the voting booth, we will never know which is the dominant party in American politics.

Democrats are the majority party now and the Republicans are the Minority now. This is true in both houses of Congress.

I refuse to believe anyone that can submit a question on yahoo answers doesn't know which party has the majority in congress.
