spring comes straight from the ground, purified has chemicals, sparkling gets into your body faster but has gas added like a sodastream, distilled means its been boiled which is the cheaper option. It depends whether you live in a hard or soft water area. Your best bet is to buy a filter like e.g. a britter etc you will be suprised when you need to change the filter , the crap that comes out of your tap. But as for your question spring water is the best as it has all the trace elements youre body needs. Beleive me. I'm a trathlete plumber.

Water is water... the minerals that may be added are nutritionally insignificant, unless you have a serious renal disorder.
Distilled water is bland.
As for safety, most muncipal supplies have higher standards than the bottlers, especially the small bottlers.
Which is better drinking water? --- well, only you can determine what YOU like, but I'll give you a hint about where to start, take the example of Dasani, the Coke product.
They take tap water, clean it up and add back minerals (for taste) and make the same recipe whether it is England, US or Canada.
Coke would have paneled a grillion people to find what they preferred in a water, and that's what Dasani is.
The spring waters bottlers are pretty much stuck with whatever comes out of the ground.
My preference is for hard water, left in the frig overnight, so the chlorine boils out. Free. Makes killer coffee, too. And, its the same water Nestle sells! Buwahahaha.

distilled water is the cleanest, having been stripped of all minerals but... you may not like the way it taste. Sounds funny to say that but it's due to you being used to drinking hard / soft water with contaminants (sp?), which adds a kind of taset to it. You can buy distilled at any market... you be the judge.

it really doesnt matter at all. Water is H20, 2 hydrogen molecules bound to an oxygen molecule no matter where you get it from. like the person above me said as long as it isnt contaminated you cant go wrong with any of them (sparkling is carbonated though so itll taste different than the others)

Actually, I'm not sure that any of them is better than the others. As long as it's not contaminated, water is water.

Spring water can be the best since it often has minerals and electrolytes dissolved within.
