Clean the area very well with hydrogen peroxide, put a thin layer of antibacterial ointment on top of it and put a bandage over it. If by the next day you see any swelling or raised red areas around the tattoo, then it may be more than a simple infection. If the redness spreads, please see a doctor. You'll probably need antibiotics to treat it from the inside. In the mean time, make sure you drink a lot of water or green tea and take a multivitamin daily to ensure your body can do its best to heal it.

You probably didn't steralize the needle you used to give yourself a tat (which is not recommended these days). It's very possible the skin is infected, use Hydrogen Peroxide (know if you're allergic to this or not) and clean with alcohol, topped with a topical antibiotic ointment. You should do this several times a day, also when cleaning, use Dial Soap,it's the best soap on the market for antibacterial. A&D is good for healing properties, but doesn't kill bacteria related to infections. If the swelling and redness persists for a few more days, see a doctor. The symptoms could be far worse than mere infection.

you call that a tattoo i call that a cutting disorder
who in there right moind would use a sewing needle to permanatly scar themselves not to mention adding ink to it
you could get ink poisoning using any old ink and yeah you probably have given urself an infection using a dirty needle.
go see a doctor they will give u advice

I'll bet you don't do that again!!!!! Put A&D ointment on it and if it starts looking worse of not better in a couple of days go to a doctor. Keep an eye out for a red streak coming from the wound, it is a sign of blood poisening

A&D ((original ointiment)) is your new friend it helps protect it and heal it use it on all new tattoos it helps :)... well it helped my tattoo alot.. dont pick at it this will make it worse. if its a new tattoo next time try not to get it wet within the first week it will prevent it from scabbing but the reddness will go away it always does just use the A&D cream it works good :) hope it helped

Its a possibility sewing needles are the wrong things to get a tattoo with they are made from the wrong kind of metal.Put some neosporen cream on it.

Since you gave it to yourself and you're concerned, I think you should go to a tattoo parlor and have them check it out. They would be able to tell you what to do with it. When I got mine done, I was told to put A&D ointment on it for the first three days and then let it breathe because it has to breathe to heal.

Please just go to the doctor. It may be seriously infection and might keep getting worse and worse. Next time just wait until you're old enough to get real tattoo in a sterilized parlor with technicians who use all the safety precautions.

Really you should just never give yourself a tattoo. But since you did anyway put some peroxide on it and some neosporin that should do the trick.
