No. Hawai'i is an American state. You don't need a passport to go to Alaska either. FYI.
You will need a passport for Canada and Mexico in 2007.

Do not read some of these absurd answers. You don't need a passport to fly from Texas to Hawaii or from Hawaii to Texas. Although a passport is always a good thing to have, but it's NOT required to fly to Hawaii. I fly all over the US without a passport. So, NO you don't need a passport, and THAT's my final answer....lol.

Yes... I see this question all the time from people on the US mainland who are thinking about visiting Hawaii but are not sure about the procedures when traveling to another state that is not connected to the mainland.
Yes! You do need a passport but that’s not all!
A passport is required for all people who are not Hawaiian. Before you can apply to visit Hawaii, you must undergo a background check that includes your personal history for the last five years. Please bring the following documentation with you when you apply. Health records, previous employment history, addresses and list of sexual partners with current contact information.
If you pass this process you will need to get your shots. There are about 50 in all and they are administered in stomach and kidney areas of the body. The process takes about four hours and is extremely painful.
Blood, urine and stool samples are also required before you can exit the aircraft.
I hope this helps!

No you do not. Hawaii is part of the United States of America. You also do not require a passport to travel to Guam, Puerto Rico, or any of the United States territories.
Happy travel

An American Citizen is not required to show a passport to travel from US state to US state, or to US territories (Puerto Rico). However, a passport is an acceptable form of ID upon check-in.

No because it is within the US. Hawaii is no longer a territory so a passport is NOT needed. Puerto Rico may be another story though.

You really need a geography/history lesson. Hawaii is the 50th state. Hawaii is not a foreign country. American dollars are most welcome, English and Hawaiian are the two official languages and an American passport is NOT required.
