Keeping in mind which will be better for an 18 year old guy

They are both absolute garbage. Unless you work at a GM factory and have to worry about vandalism, do yourself a favor and get a Honda Accord.

the pontiac is sporty to look but the 03 impala can be serious good looking too.
its got that mafia looks like a bmw.
a black one would look amazing.
and others factors that impala's are a lil more reliable than a pontiac for your buying a second hand one you really need to be careful about this.
and maybe the pontiac was used by a aggressive driver (cause of its looks) so more likely rough handling and bad maintainence
impala on the other hand a lil old slow rider kinda so better maintainence
i'd say go for the impala :)

the impala is the better car as there are a lot of problems with the grand am but being 18 I would choose the grand am due to being a lot cooler looking.

the grand am is more sporty but they are a little noisier going down the road and had serious wheel bearing issues. the impala isn't as sproty but is a much more reliable car. also the grand ams usually had a 3.4l which has alot of power, but the 3.8l that comes in most impalas has more and will last alot longer.

grand -ams just look cooler than the impala,s do,i like the grand am,s a lot better they look good fixed up,so id have to go with a Pontiac on this one..good luck

I have a Buick Regal which is also in the GM W body family and it gets 24 mpg local and 29-31 hiway mileage.

All those facts may be true.. but Imapalas are like machines. You'll likely have less repair bills if you take care of the Impala.

Pontiacs are more sporty, less grandma-like, and look better when you do things like tinted windows and rims.

neither they are made by us americans its only gonna last you for a hundred thousand miles get a japenese car they last for a lot longer retain there value and they look the best
