I have seen some very interesting answers to your question. I used to have the same problem and I gained a ton of weight when I was like that. My metabolism had slowed down at an early age and this may be your problem as well. I just started to get more sleep and instead of taking the easy way out I started to exercise slowly. I would walk with friends then I started to jog and I went to the Y with friends and worked out. It's always a good idea to have a friend with you because you can lose interest when you are by yourself. Good Luck!

I have the same prob! What I do is watch tv and do 10 push ups and 20 situps. Every week add 10 more. Then in spring I do track. You don't even have to be good the first year! I sucked my first year but now i got the basics down i am good!

Find a hobby you like that keeps your mind and your hands busy. Like latchhook, scrapbooking, drawing, journaling...etc. Make sure you move out of the kitchen and if you feel the urge to go munch remind yourself that you are doing it from boredom and you might just stop halfway there. Drink water instead of eating b/c you could be dehydrated and thirsty instead of hungry but your body is confusing the 2. Good luck.

Try and entertain yourself that doesn't involve food. Or if you feel like you are tired and bored when you get home, try to take pills or energy drinks during the day . Maybe your not getting enough sleep at night, so get to bed early, you'll need it!

Drink a glass of water, get up and walk four blocks, and run one. Volunteer your time to a seniors home or hospital organization. Possibly join a gym with a friend or join a team if there is a sport you are interested in. Eat more protein.........and less carbohydrates.........

Get involved with a sport or group at school. If you stay after to exercise or work on an activity you won't be home just watching tv and munching on food.

You can sign up for a gym membership with a friend or two. Going with a friend usually motivates people to go. I have heard about this Hoodia product that is supposed to suppress hunger, but I am not sure how entirely safe it is.

Maybe instead of laying around make a cup of hot tea. It will give you a burst of energy and curb the hunger pains. If your bored maybe clean up something or cook dinner then your not snacking.
