I think this guy likes you as more than a friend, but seems he's not sure you feel the same and maybe he doesn't want to risk your friendship. If he is spending more time with you than the girl he is seeing, then it's clear that he would rather be with you. As for the kiss on the forehead, seems like a safe place to kiss you, but at least he gets to kiss you. If he just thought of you as a friend, he wouldn't have gotten upset if you knew he was seeing someone and he wouldn't have felt the need to defend the fact that he hadn't had sex with her or even kissed her. If your relationship stays as friends then both of you have the right to see anyone you chose to. If you both feel there is more to this friendship, then you need to talk about it and see what happens. all the best to you both as friends or more than friends :)

my now husband used to always do that when we were dating instead of like making out in public he wud just kiss my hand its a sweet gesture and its something a gentleman does, its soooo romantic!

it means that he is being respectful and not wanting to move too fast. i love it when a guy kisses my hand..it's even more intimate than when he kisses my cheek or lips.
