my cat, smeagie, just runs from wherever he is in the house and just sits there watching. and i can almost hear him saying in a cartman-from-south-park kind of voice "haha, you're cleanin up my poooo!"
why do they watch?

OH YEA and THEN once you are done, they will proceed to pee and poo in THE CLEAN LITTER!!!! AHHHHHHH!!!!!!! lol

This is very true but I don't know the answer. Maybe they just woke up from a "cat nap", hear that scooping sound and figure "oh my box is clean so now I'll take a dump". Cats are very clean critters and like clean surroundings and are particular creatures.

My younger cat likes to watch so she can hop right in soon as I'm done and use it. She also likes to watch me do anything around the house though especially in the kitchen. She is like a curious little kid! lol

My cat does this too. She is also very interested in watching me unload the dishwasher but I figured that one out. Some times when I unload the dishwasher it's because I need something in there to cook with and if food is going to be prepared, she wants in on it.

Cats mark their litter box as their personal territory. When you clean the box they often see it as an invasion and keep watch to make sure that everything is okay. Many cats will go into the litter box as soon as you finish cleaning it, to "mark" it again.

I actually like it. I have a male cat and I like him watching me so he can see how good I am. They do use it right away. Don't know why. He likes to watch me cook and my hubby do karaoke. He watches TV with us sometimes. And reacts to whats going on in the movie,lol.

It is so annoying when you clean it then they hop in and make it dirty again!!! LOL my cat does the bed thing and the watching me clean thing too.
