You MUST go and see a doctor! At 13 you should not be so scared. You need to find out why you are scared and depressed, and get the right treatment.

Sometimes, this just happens.
You can perhaps talk with your parents, siblings, or a really good friend when this begins to happen. Have a grandma/grandpa that are still alive, or a favorite aunt/uncle..cousin? Talk to one of them. Sometimes, being able to write things down in a journal, or sketching things help. Focus your attention on other things, if possible.
You may even wish to have a small night light on, as silly as that may sound to others. Noting harsh, just something to give off enough light to help make you feel comfortable.
If you're a girl, you can still get away with sleeping with an adorable stuffed animal, not sure what a boy would slep with at this age - but if it makes you feel comfortable to have a stuffed animal in bed with you, go for it! Don't let anyone tell you otherwise. I know it's NOT reccommended, but hey, if it helps, why not.
Yes, speak with your doctor, confidentially.
What's going on with your school life - home life.. parents getting along.. how's the stress at school at having to get good grades.. what do you do before going to bed.. etc.
Everything has a way of effecting all of us.
You're not the only one this has happened to sweetie , so go easy on yourself.
Some won't like this, but, maybe try praying, or softly singing when you're frightened.
Would having a dog in your room, on your bed at night, help..

Hi N.Attil. Last year I went through a similar situation. I was really scared at night and could not sleep. Are you seing a therapist? Are you taking meds? because a shrink can help you and meds too. If you want to try the natural stuff: try Celestial seasonings sleepytime tea, it relaxes. Never drink caffeine at night. Also get rid of bad thoughts, or the stress from school. Breath deep many times. Argentox2@yahoo.com

Why can't you go to a doctor? if you can't go to a doctor can you talk to a school counselor? You definitely have an anxiety/depression problem. Did something happen to cause your problem? You need to talk this out with someone. It is hard to help because there are so many questions. Why can't you tell your parents? Have you taken any kinds of drugs recently? Tell someone you trust ASAP!

Did the movie scare you? Give it a few days and it should pass, if not talk to your parents. Sleep with some soft music on, it helps drown the silence. Even sleep with the light on for a few days if it helps. Have a friend sleep over.

I had this problem too. Try to look on the bright side of life. Like being alive. Tust in a higher power, God. He thinks for you so why should you both do the thinking when he can do well by himself.

sleep with a nightlight or a timer on your tv.....noise for some reason calms me down. Whenever you think about it whatever is in front of you say it in your mind over and over....the way 2 stop being afraid is to retrain your brain to forget about it.....I have done this many times....have u seen "Man on Fire"? Scary movie I would not reccomend it. good luck!

You don't say your age. Talk to someone you can trust and that you respect enough to give you good, sound advice. You may need to see a professional, start with your primary care physician. He or she will help for sure. Be well!

Find a distraction, like tv, music or a book. Once you can put aside your fear you will most likely fall right asleep.
Your focus determines your reality. As long as you continue to focus on what is scaring you, you will be scared.
