So the Bible said that Lucifer was thrown out of heaven along with one third of the angels. If this was in fact the case, Lucifer must have been offering something that God could not provide. Think about it. If one third of heaven's population followed him, he must have had some rational ideas or plans. Now project that to earth here. Could it not be possible that Satan offers a real alternative to the worship of God? Before you reply with a "canned" answer or knee-jerk reaction give this concept a thought.

YES! Satan IS a viable alternative. As a Daemonolatress, Satan sits at the top of my pantheon. Never has he demanded I grovel before him or beg forgiveness. He recognizes that I am a human animal and doesn't disallow me to indulge my carnal nature or occassionally be selfish (especially when I've put everyone else's needs above my own at times) and make time for myself and MY health! Even then - he does not allow me to be too selfish by reminding me that I should help others.

Satan is also merciful and more loving. He is secure enough in himself that he doesn't need human servants. He actually answers my prayers. He expects nothing from his followers except that they take responsibility for themselves, help themselves, use their brains, and listen to the wisdom of the Daemonic Divine if they've sought them out. He teaches us that WE are simply physical manifestations of the divine and are divine as gods ourselves because we all come from the same source and are made of the same elements as all else.

Believe it or not, Satan also encourages charity, love, compassion (for yourself and others), family, etc... Mostly - he encourages TRUTH, honesty, and enlightenment.

Leviathan, my patron, came to me and saved my life and gave me purpose. What do you all think of that? :)

I could go on, but I'll shut up now.

Lucifer offers counterfiet of what God offers Lucifer doesn't expect you to be in relationship with him, or even do anything, that you don't feel like doing, so virtually you can make your own rules.

Satan just wants to kill, steal and destroy and will do that when you start searching for Jesus to make it all to hard. Satan wants to have some people at his loosers party... He has lost the war he wants to win battles (souls) and not be a loner for eternity.

What if poison was viable alternative to water??
God gives good gifts.
God gives life
God gives joy
God gives purpose

Satan wanted to be equal to God, he still doesn't have equal status he is a lost foe, roaring lions (apparantly lions roar when they are ill, hungry or dying)

this may be the only question that i answer on this subject, but are you for real or not. According to the bible he was expelled for trying to take over heaven. Common sense says if he did not do it that God has more power than Satan. And that we will all be held accountable for our actions on judgement day. Accountable to God no matter what any other lifestyle may be. Do that make sense to you. One way to get the devils away from you is to rebuke them and cast them out. Just say it and let God do the rest. Ask the Lord to forgive you from all your sins first. We want to follow God to go to heaven, not follow Satan and go to hell.

Satan offers selfishness and being self centered, so yes...he is a viable alternative.

There's no sitting on the fence. Either you serve the living God or you serve Satan.

Question is...were would you like to spend eternity? ((Before you answer that question, keep in mind; it means life or death.)) Just so you know what death has waiting for all that have chosen it...Lake of Fire (doesn't leave much to the imagination.)

((Satan tricked the angels that fell with him. Think about that for a minute. If he can trick them...don't you think he has a field day with humans? We are such followers. Perhaps that why the Biblical text refers to us as sheep; over and over again)). That term sheep refers to both believers and non-believers as well, even when you are a leader...you are following something or someone...else.

Lucifer was the chief musician in heaven. I played rock n' roll music before I got saved. Satan is the promoter of rock n' roll.

All he (Satan) can come up with are counterfeits. he is incapable of creating anything. Only God is the Creator. False religions all started with the same moral code in God's law. By the way, God created Lucifer(Satan) also.

I agree totally.

God (if we assume the story is true) created mankind as a failure, then blamed this failure on the creation!! He punished mankind for eating of the tree of knowledge - what exactly was he hiding that Satan was informing mankind about by encouraging eating it?? Then, this all loving and omnisicent God has to send his son to die for mankinds sins....you think that this omnisicent cretor would have been able to see that coming.

Unless he did see it comingg and it was His plan all along - to kill his son. That makes God either evil or not omniscient. And lazy.

Who do you think when they speak of the ruler of this world, it is the one rejected who thought of himself as being greater than god. It is he who rules for a time, this is why the whole world is in turmoil and the teachings of Jesus must be thaught to all the nations before Jesus comes to establish God's kingdom here on earth as it is in Heaven. Amen

For many people its not a question of "what if Satan is viable..: In fact, Satan is their god. Wanna proofs? Look around you, and see: widespread greed, violence, disrespect, intolerance, immorality, etc. This world is really ruled by Satan.

Has he something to offer that God could not provide? Certainly! These are: lies, death, and misery.
