No. The "cracking" noise you hear is simply the sound of joint fluid being forced rapidly from one part of the joint to another at a high pressure.
Arthritis is caused either an inflammation of the joints (rheumatoid) or a wearing away of the articular cartilage at the ends of the bones which causes a griding of two bones of a joint (osteo).
There is no evidence to support the idea that cracking your knuckles damages the joints in any way.

Imagine for a moment your arthritis completely vanishing right now.
If, in a moment, your pain and stiffness melted away. And your joints all of a sudden functioned like a well-oiled machine.
Like a magic wand was waived, you'd be able to jump up from your chair and run around the room like a kid.
And imagine that you'd never have to suffer as much as a pinch of arthritis stiffness or pain ever again.
I know this sounds impossible right now, but bear with me, because sometimes miracles happen.
It was a gift from a woman on the other side of the world. From the kindness of her heart, she took pity on my suffering and taught me how to completely reverse my arthritis.
Today, I want to do the same for you!

No. Arthritis is inflammation of the joints due to wear and tear (osteo-arthritis) or an auto-immune response such as rheumatoid arthritis. There is no correlation to knuckle popping. You might want to cut down due to the possibility of annoying others. Have a nice day.

No, it may cause your fingers to get sore, but I've read many articles from doctors that say popping your fingers cannot give you arthritis! Yay! I'm a popper too! haha

This is a common question and a good one. Parents frequently warn their children that 'popping' their fingers will lead to joint damage or arthitis. There is (sorry Mom) absolutely no evidence that it is harmful. The popping sound is actually from the fluid in the joint, and not the 'bones' themselves.

No, in fact all chiropractors crack people's bones backwards and forwards and nothing happens, popping your fingers has no effect whatsoever, arthritis is a disease, deformation of the bones junctures..☺

I asked my doctor, years ago, and he said no.
Sounds to me like it's an old wives tale or something, just like if a pregnant woman has heart burn, the baby'll have lots of hair.
Hope this helps, though I don't think there is any real way of proving it does or doesn't.
Sure is fun to do, though!
