if it has a lifetime warranty then it don't matter if it was over heated, they should replace it.. I would look up the information on the manufacture and see if it has one or not... good luck

The whole idea of a cast-iron pan is that it should withstand heat, and last for a lifetime. They should replace it for you. If they try to fob you off, just threaten to go to Watchdog and the media - Le Creuset can only charge the outlandish amounts they do because they have the reputation of being a trustworthy quality brand. Short of sticking it into a smelting furnace or dropping it (cast iron will break if you drop it), nothing you do to it should damage it! Be confident with them (you're the consumer and the product you bought from them doesn't match up to the quality they promised in selling it to you), and get it replaced. Legally, you're in the right!

Ha! Sorry to hear that! Try some Bon Ami mild abrasive cleaner (it WON'T scratch) and try that; gently rub with a little water in circles; if not, you might've burned something or used a metal spoon instead of heat resistant plastic or wooden which could've caused scratching....good luck! Oh, by the way, a lifetime guarantee is void if you used a cooking utensil in it or wrong soap to wash it....

I agree with the other respondents.. should not do this.. you are definitely entitled to a refund ..regardless. I have a le creuset casserole myself.. used for years without any probs whatsoever.. but if your looking for the ultimate in absolutely indestructible ovenware, which will allow you to saute on the ring, transfer to oven, then serve at table, go for COPCO danish designer cookware, more expensive perhaps ..but I can guarantee it's worth it!

If I knew what a 'le creuset' pan was, I would love to be of assistance. But, as I don't, I'm afraid I'm of no use whatsoever. Sorry.

Does your pan have a warranty? Most have a lifetime warranty unless you've purposely damaged it.

Typical of anything French - lets you down under pressure and heat when you need it.
