Get a bottle of Grenadine from the store. That's the stuff they use in Shirley Temples. Then mix about 1/4 of that with 3/4's of white soda (7up is what most bars use). I make these for my daughter all the time. Then I add a cherry or two for her. She loves them. Takes me back to my childhood too! :)
Enjoy!

The Shirley Temple is a non-alcoholic drink. It's made either with ginger ale or 7-up and a half-ounce of grenadine mixed in.

Ginger ale, 7 Up or Sprite with a splash of Grenadine or cherry juice, garnished with a cherry.

The drink was invented by a bartender at Chasen's in Beverly Hills, CA., who named many drinks after the actors and actresses that came to the restaurant, however this was never a favorite drink of Shirley's....too sweet!

All you do is get sprite or 7-up whichever you prefer, and add cherry. I worked at a restaraunt for years and I was forever making those. We of course, had a big jug of cherries and I just dipped out some of the juice. I'm sure that Grenadine would work just as well. Don't forget to throw in a cherry w/stem for the decoration!

You use about 4 oz lemon-lime mix, a half can of 7-up, 1 slice of orange, a cherry, and a few drops of grenadine Mix all of these ingredients into a shaker with crushed ice and shake really well. Then Pour it into an iced glass and use the orange slice as a garnish. It is really good and VERY pretty.
