I found this quote, from Genesis; I think it is the one that people use to discourage masturbation., judge for yourself.

38:7 And Er, Judah's firstborn, was wicked in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD slew him.
38:8 And Judah said unto Onan, Go in unto thy brother's wife, and marry her, and raise up seed to thy brother.
38:9 And Onan knew that the seed should not be his; and it came to pass, when he went in unto his brother's wife, that he spilled it on the ground, lest that he should give seed to his brother.
38:10 And the thing which he did displeased the LORD: wherefore he slew him also.

Your house or body is where the Holy spirit dwells. I hope this is true for you. If it is you will not defile your self or your house that the holy spirit dwells in. Fornication is any kind of sexual immortality. Masturbation is a sin. 2 seconds of release isnt worth a lifetime of joy with the Father. Be convivted of it remember the Holy Spirit dwelling in you and it will be easy to deny the flesh in this matter.
May God bless you Amen

I would say that the act itself is not a sin, but the thoughts that accompany it are. Jesus said if you lust after a woman, you have committed adultery in your heart. It will hurt your future spouse whomever that may be, because you are substituting your pleasure that you are supposed to be sharing. Any act of selfishness is sin.

CuriousGirl noted that abstaining will not cause you to commit any further sin. - For me, when I try to go long periods without a release, I get overwelmed with thoughts I don't want, as well as greater and greater urges. - This is where I'm confused. Which is worse?

It's a form of lust. You are basically satisfying your own sexual desires. Lust is a sin. The defintion of lust is acting selfishly. So, masturbation would be selfish. You can't do it without thinking of yourself or someone. It falls completely in the category of lust. Think about it before you decide to do it or continue to do it. Many of us have questions about this. You have to pray to God and hold on. This is one thing that you definitely DON'T have to do.
Abstaining from masturbation will not cause you to commit any further sin. Hold on to Jesus, trust in Him ... He will give you ALL the strength you need to control the urges to sin in any way.

This is the answer that I previously gave on your first question. I hope this helps.

It depends. Are you lusting after a woman when you do it? Jesus said whoever lusts after a woman has already committed fornication with her in his heart. If not, it is not really a sin, it's natural. You have needs of your own, and God I'm sure would rather you do that than go out and fornicate.
Will it hurt others? No. And it won't hurt you either.

No masturbation is not a sin and anyone who tells you it is is an IDIOT. The only person I can think of it hurting is you mother if she catches you at it. So keep the door locked so your mother won't catch you and w@nk away.

The Bible doesn't mention masturbation. Here is a link to an article that discusses the subject from a Biblical perspective for you to consider.

Greetings in the Name of Our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ,

"In the same way count yourselves dead to sin but alive to God in Christ Jesus. Therefore do not let sin reign in your mortal body so that you obey its evil desires. Do not offer the parts of your body to sin, as instruments of wickedness, but rather offer yourselves to God, as those who have been brought from death to life; and offer the parts of your body to him as instruments of righteousness. For sin shall not be your master for you are not under law but under grace" (Romans 6:11-14).

1 Corinthians 6:18 (NIV)
"Flee from sexual immorality. All other sins a man commits are outside his body, but he who sins sexually sins against his own body."

"No temptation has seized you except what is common to man. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can stand up under it" (1 Corinthians 10:13).

Masterbation in the since of everything is worng yes but in a way it is only corrupting one person which is yourself, However you still should not do it because, God says your body is a temple and that is where the Holy Spirit dewells. I think deep down inside you know that it is worng to do it because if you didnt you would not be asking, and then after you DO it you feel guilty that is God's spirit talking to you. Dont put yourself in the middle of God's wrath. Ask the Lord to deliver you and set you free from this and he will. Resist temptation and Flee from Evil

:)
