Tell her you needed help on the work and you were asking another student a question about it. and if your mom ask why you didnt stop talking after the teacher told you not to, tell your mom you didnt hear her. and when you talk to her, look her straight in the eye, and dont move your body like your nervous.

I know this isn't what you want to hear, but it really is just better to fess up and come clean with whatever you did to get the detentions in the first place. As a parent, my kids are in 10x more trouble if they lie about it than when they just tell us the facts. Yes, you will probably (hopefully!) be consequenced for receiving two detentions, but I bet it will be far less than if you make up a crazy tale to get out of it. The last thing you want is for mom to go down to the school, loaded for bear, because her child has been "wronged"!

Try the truth for once! It sounds to me as if you don't tell the truth to anyone as much as you lie to people. What a shame. Be honest with your mom. She is deserving of at least that much. She will be mad for a while, but will get over it quickly when she figures out that you are giving the same information the teacher told her on the phone. Good luck to you. Let us all know how you made out with this, once your punishment ends, ok?

I'm sorry but tell the truth...Hear me out. You don't want to go into a showdown with your teacher where your mother doesn't know who to believe. And, you could jus tell her that you have an active social life. Or you could say you were asking academic questions and your teachers mistaked it for gossip.

Honesty is the best policy. Just tell you mother you were talking; what is the big deal? You wanna play, you gotta pay.....
