It is exactly what you think it is....a chicken separated by a machine, except you are not getting the actual meat...you are getting the scraping of the carcass and undeveloped sex glands of the chicken...turned into a paste. It is the main ingredient in slim jims! Sounds good huh?

My daughters 2nd stage turkey vegetable is mechanically separated also. Basically they use a centrifuge to separate the real chicken from the chicken that was too chicken to go into the food. It is a quite complex process although it is much healthier than processed chicken. Hope this helps.

These two claws come down, like the ones in those toy/crane machines, and they grab the chicken and seperate it.

It's the crap bits of meat blasted off the bones etc after all the good bits have been removed.

Often used in cheap pies, nuggets, chicken burgers etc.

the chicken...decapitated of course...is placed in a machine where it is separated and grinded into mush then made into snausages and slim jims.
