Yes.

Judeo-Christian tradition has taught for thousands of years:
1. Single people should be celibate.
2. Married people should be faithful to each other (adultery is wrong).

The Catholic Church recognizes the power of sex when it teaches, "Sexuality affects all aspects of the human person in the unity of his body and soul."

Chastity means the successful integration of sexuality within the person. A chaste person's body and spirit lives in unity and opposes any behavior that would impair that unity.

Masturbation is contrary to the human dignity of the person and anyone about whom the person has lustful thoughts, and the dignity of human sexuality.

With love in Christ.

In bible terms, yes (for men anyway). However, consider this: Forcing yourself to avoid the simple and harmless pleasure of masturbation could very well lead you to commit far worse sexual acts later on, particularly those in the adultery sense. Unless you're a hardcore fundamentalist, I'm pretty sure masturbation falls under the list of acts that modern Christians accept but may or may not talk about.

The strict Christian interpretation is that masturbation is a sin. The bible states "A man shall not spill his seed on the ground" or something to that effect. That concept was reinforced during Victorian times by the myth that a man would go blind if he masturbated too much. However in today's culture many people don't regard it as a sin any more.

The Bible describes a young man who meets a promiscuous woman. She kisses him and says: “Do come, . . . let us enjoy each other with love expressions.” Then what happens? “All of a sudden he is going after her, like a bull that comes even to the slaughter.” (Proverbs 7:7-22) Obviously, this youth’s passions were aroused not simply because his hormones were at work but because of what he saw and heard.

Similarly, one young man admits: ‘The root of my whole problem with masturbation boiled down to what I put in my mind. I would watch TV programs that included immorality and in some cases watch programs on cable TV that would show nudity. Such scenes are so shocking that they stay with you. They would surface again in my mind, providing the mental fuel needed to engage in masturbation.’

Since masturbation is not directly condemned in the Bible, does this mean it is harmless? Absolutely not! Though it is not classed with such gross sins as fornication, masturbation is surely an unclean habit. (Ephesians 4:19) The principles of God’s Word thus indicate that you “benefit yourself” by strongly resisting this unclean habit.—Isaiah 48:17.

“Deaden, therefore, your body members,” urges the Bible, “as respects . . . sexual appetite.” (Colossians 3:5) “Sexual appetite” refers not to normal sexual feelings but to passion that is out of control. Such “sexual appetite” can thus lead to one’s indulging in gross acts, as described by Paul at Romans 1:26, 27.

But does not masturbation “deaden” these desires? No, on the contrary, as one youth confessed: “When you masturbate, you dwell mentally on wrong desires, and all that does is increase your appetite for them.” Often an immoral fantasy is used to increase the sexual pleasure. (Matthew 5:27, 28) Therefore, given the right circumstances, one could easily fall into immorality.

That is a good question. I don't know that is a subject that would probably never come up in church LOL! I don't know but honestly I don't see anything wrong with it! If a person wants to then hey whatever floats their boat! I have never heard of it to be a sin in the bible!

It's a form of lust. Lust is a sin. The defintion of lust is acting selfishly. So, masturbation would be selfish. You can't do it without thinking of yourself or someone. It falls completely in the category of lust. Think about it before you decide to do it or continue to do it. Many of us have questions about this. You have to pray to God and hold on. This is one thing that you definitely DON'T have to do.
Abstaining from masturbation will not cause you to commit any further sin. Hold on to Jesus, trust in Him ... He will give you ALL the strength you need to control the urges to sin in any way.

No - it's not a sin. Masterbation is natural and healthy.

What isn't healthy is repressing your natural need to sexually satisfy yourself. Hysteria and "Demon Possession" were common in the middle ages among celebate, non-masterbating peoples. Being a jerk no one likes and being stressed (and possibly even getting cancer or other deadly illness from stress) are other problems you could encounter if you try to repress your perfectly human need to masterbate (to satisfy your natural sexual desire).

So go for it. No loving god, in his or her right mind, would give humans built in overpowering sexual needs and desires and then expect them to ignore that need. Otherwise he'd be a masochist and not worthy of your reverence and worship.

People who say they don't masterbate are liars. Plain and simple. There is nothing in the ten commandments that prohibits masterbation, but there is one rule that calls the act of 'lying' a sin.

The people who say you shouldn't masterbate are the real sinners. They are hypocrites, they are manipulative, they tell you things that aren't true to get you to conform to their own false rules, so don't listen to them. They are pure, concentrated evil, as black and dark and twisted as the Beast himself.

According to Christian interpretation of the bible all sex except for marital, (persumably missionary style) sex is forbidden. This even includes masturbation or thought of sex.

If you ask me, sex done for the right reasons is good sex, no matter if it's by yourself, with others, in what position, etc.
