Why do humans have different races? If they arent meant to co-exist than their should be one race of humans since we all evolved due to the enviroment they were inhabiting.

Look in the mirror sometime. Your command of English suggests that you may, in fact, be a monkey.

The monkeys and Great Apes that live today are NOT our ancestors. Our Ape-like ancestors are now dead and long gone.

The monkeys and apes that live today are more-or-less our species 'cousins'. In fact ALL LIFE on Earth is related in this way.

There is ample evidence in the fossil record for how this gradual transition took place, over millions of years. More than this, it's obvious, since it's written into our genetic code for anyone to appreciate.

PS: I think if I hear one more evangelical Christian using quotes from the bible to try to prove anything, I'm going to climb the Empire State building with a beautiful blonde and just freak out!!!

Ok, lets answer this one again.

Man did not evolve from a monkey. Man and monkey both evolved from the same creature. Something probably monkey-like.

Look at it this way, you and your cousins share a common ancestor, your grandmother. However, you can both exist at the same time.

The common ancestor to monkeys and primates was a creature with some resemblence to a monkey, most notably grasping digits. The single biggest difference was lack of forward facing eyes for binocular vision. Monkeys evolved from it and continue to evolve. Primates, including humans, evolved from it and continue to evolve.

That is a very good point! in fact i've thought and asked the same question. Come to find out the reason is because evolution is not true it's just a man made assumption because they refuse to give God credit where do it's that simple. The bible book of (Genesis 1:27 it says: And god proceeded to create the MAN in his image, in God's image he created him; MALE and FEMALE he created them.) It didn't say anything about God creating APE and MONKEY. So if man was created in God's image does that mean God looks like an ape or monkey?(COME ON! THINK PEOPLE IT"S NOT THAT HARD) I don't care what nobody says I did not evolve from a monkey or an ape and neither did my family. But for those who believe in evolution more power to you. I believe God's word over man's and I must say it sucks that you feel you decended from a line of monkeys and apes.

Are you serious? *sighs* We evolved from a common ancestor.

"Humans did not evolve from monkeys. Humans are more closely related to modern apes than to monkeys, but we didn't evolve from apes, either. Humans share a common ancestor with modern African apes, like gorillas and chimpanzees. Scientists believe this common ancestor existed
5 to 8 million years ago. Shortly thereafter, the species diverged into two separate lineages. One of these lineages ultimately evolved into gorillas and chimps, and the other evolved into early human ancestors called hominids."

Go back to school. This will be the 9th time I've answered this question today.

We didn't evolve from monkeys and evolution doesn't say we did. That religion twisting the truth so that evolution looks wrong.

We share a common ancestor to monkeys, we did not evolve from monkeys. This should have been taught to you when you were 10.

If I came from my parents why do they still exist?

Just because there was a split in the family tree does not mean that the branch causes its trunk to die. They (monkeys) explored other avenues of survival and we are currently exploring higher cognition and abstract concepts as a survival aid.

Intelligence is still very, very new (as far as we know) as a survival trait and is as of yet unproven. I would say the verdict is out until we are no longer in danger of destroying our own habitat with our waste, apathy, pollution and wars.
