I had many OB/GYN's tell me that I would never conceive, so after much prayer, we receive our precious miracle! We named him Samuel Micah - Samuel after the prophet who told of Jesus' birth and Micah the prophet who fortold his death. He is one special child and at 11 years old stands as tall as I am (5'5") and is more precious than silver or gold to us!!!

We have a very long last name that's hard to pronounce, so we wanted a short first name that was easy to pronounce and spell. We also wanted a name that had no family connections or connotations (that way nobody's nose gets out of joint-- "why did you name her after so-and-so and not so-and-so?"), and that didn't have any cultural "loading" that could be awkward (i.e., like the name "Dick"-- apologies to all ***** out there).
Since I knew we were expecting a girl, I didn't want to pick a name that was ditzy or had an "airhead" connotation. I wanted a name that had a power sound-bite to it that was at the same time feminine.
We ended up naming our daughter Kira because it met all of these criteria and it just sounded right.

My husband says he was inspired with the names of our first two daughters. So I went along with the names he picked...Celeste and Adrienne. But I chose their middle names Dianne after my mom's middle name, and Joy because she was born right before Christmas and my husband's middle name is Jay. But when we were pregnant with our third daughter, I was determined that I would get to pick her name. But since my husband wouldn't go along with the three names I liked the best (Lucia, Isabelle, and Madelyn), I ended up settling for the only name he would agree on which was Lily, I chose it after my Great Grandmother Lillian. And her middle name was just one I've always liked that my friend suggested...Elizabeth. Picking names is just too hard!

My son's biological father didn't want anything to do with him. But a childhood friend and one time boyfriend of mine and I got back in touch when I was pregnant. He immediately jumped into the 'Daddy' role. He asked me to marry him in the middle of labor and wanted me to name my son after him. We compromised and my son's first name is his Daddys middle name, Timothy. After 10 years my ex is still not interested so my hubby is going to adopt my son.
For our 2 year old daughter we had to be creative. We had thought we were going to have a boy, so we decided to name the baby after it's grandfathers. Both had Anthony as their middle names so that was going to be the baby's name.
But we had a girl!!!
So we used both grandpa's first names and came up with Dani Michelle for Grandpa Danny and Grandpa Mike.

my oldest son I named Sergio after his father, and my youngest son I named Alexander because my oldest son (who was 4 at the time) liked the name and learned how to say it. My husbands main job in naming our sons was to say that ones OK or no I have a brother, sister, niece or nephew with that name. We went throw alot of names before we came up with Alexander.

My oldest child is named after her aunt, grandma, and great grandma. My middle child is named after his dad and grandfather. My youngest has a name all his own, I got the opportunity to name him and I didn't want him named after anyone in either of our families. His first name is from the bible.....Matthew (which means gift from God) and his middle name is just something I came up with out of the blue......Trinton.

Patrick was the only boys name we agreed on and our son was due on St. Patrick's day so it seemed like God was helping us out with our argument. And Dean is my husband middle name and now our son is Patrick Dean. Three or four generations of middle names of Dean.

My partner named our son Kieran, when I was pregnant I didn't like the name- i thought it sounded too Irish but as soon as he was born he just looked like a Kieran so thats what we called him it. And you may ask how does a baby look like a Kieran, well his name means small and black- he was only 3 lbs and he had a huge bruise on his head and eye.
