The smallest cat is said to be a Singapura but different people have different ideas as to what is cute. I think that a Devon Rex kitten with it's pixie like face & giant bat ears is almost unbearably cute but some people think them extremely ugly. But take a look at these two photos ...

Aww .... Now, which is really the cutest? Anyway, links to descriptions of Singapuras & Devon Rex in the Source below.
For you to decide what you consider cute, then I'd suggest having a browse of this site:
http://www.catsinfo.com/profiles.html#breeds
or this one
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_cat_breeds
You might want to avoid the following breeds - these are the ones that I can think of that are generally classed as big cats:
Maine Coone, RagDoll, Norwegian Forest Cat, Bengal, Persian/Longhair, Exotic, Pixie Bob & Siberian
(PS I've also just found this site about dwarf, midget, miniature & teacup cats:
http://www.messybeast.com/dwarfcats.html#minibreeds
It seems really comprehensive, interesting & sensible ... I've just saved it to favourites.)

well, really all cats grow up and become old, but I'd go with a breed that is really fluffy and fury, but really all cats are cute. Do some research or talk to your local vet/spca/pound. I'm sure you'll find what ur looking for.

There are miniature Persians that are just gorgeous. they get to be about 3 pounds(the average size of a 3 month old kitten). The breeders don't guarantee size yet, but if both parents are small, the chances are good.

They have yet to genetically engineer a cat to say small. They have engineered an hypoallergetic cat, but not a small one. I have found that tabby's are relatively small unless you fatten them up.

"Cornish Rex" is a small to medium breed cat. They may be expensive though. You can search for more breeds on: http://www.cfainc.org/breeds/profiles/cornish.html
Good luck!
