Abbreviations in medicine (and society in general) are an unfortunate problem. ED may abbreviate many disorders, but I suspect that you mean an 'eating disorder'. Eating disorders typically refer to those who are too thin, rather than those who are over-weight - although both may be applicable. If your body mass index (weight in kilograms divided by height in meters squared) is less than 18 or greater than 30 you may have an eating disorder (at least in a general sense).
