Okay, before you respond, know that we've been together for 3 years -- we love each other A LOT. I like to personally keep a beard and/or goatee. She doesnt like it. When I was there with her I would regularly shave, but now I'm living on the other side of the country. We still talk on the phone regulary, still love each other, still are loyal to each other.
So now I keep a beard, since she's not here. Well, she tells me today to shave it off and send her a picture of me. I sent her a picture of myself with a beard and she said im ugly and she hates it. I told her if she really loves me she wouldn't judge me based on whether or not I have a beard.
WHO'S RIGHT? Or give me advice on what to say to her if i'm right (i doubt anyone here will agree with me though).

I think that you two can come to a compromise regarding your beard. I used to love growing a beard in the winter and then would remove it when the nice weather returned, but now that it would be completely grey have since stopped growing it. Ha! But if you are not in regular distance of your girlfriend then she should not mind you having a beard if she is not around. For her sake though when you do get together you might want to either remove and just leave a mustache or take all facial hair off for her pleasure and comfort. It will make things a heck of a lot easier while you are together and it isn't that difficult to re-grow when you are off by yourself again. Compromise is the best answer I can come up with for you both.

Sorry but im a girl and long beards are gross. Unless you are a jewish orthodox lol. I dont even like short beards. They are just prickly and when you kiss a guy its just ugh. Not enjoyable lol. I would shave it if i were you. This being said, its your choice, do what you want. If you dont want to shave it, at least keep trimming, because its a good compromise. Shaving it makes you look younger in a good way. No girl wants a guy with a long beard, thats for sure. Not trying to be a ***** or anything, just being honest

I say that if you like the beard, keep the beard. Just because you love each other doesn't mean she has the right to tell you how to groom.
If she insists on you shaving, perhaps you can come up with an ultimatum for her ...like you want her to shave a smiley face on the left side of her head and then die the right side rainbow colors or something stupid.
If she loves you, she'll accept you with or without facial hear. Besides, sometimes it tickles.

This is just a matter of opinion. The two of you should agree to disagree. Be yourself! Keep the beard!

you still have a goatee? Man, the 90's called and they want their facial hair back. just kidding.
If you kids are arguing over facial hair, you probably need a new hobby or something. Or maybe you both need to meet other people. She sounds a little shallow to me.

I think she's a little unreasonable esp. if you all aren't around each other regularly. It's all about personal preference and comfort. Have her cut her hair or dye it another color b/c you hate the color or style she has it in now and see how she feels. She needs to understand that when you all were around each other you respected her wishes and now she needs to respect yours.

If you don't see each other on a regular basis, I don't see at all why she cares if you have one or not...especially if YOU like it. One of my former bf's had one and I hated it, but he was happy with it and that's all that mattered to me.
She should want what's best for YOU and not what's best for her...since she's not even going to have to see it!!

I do agree with you. If she cant handle you with your beard then you dont need to be explaining why you let it grow.

If it will cost you your relationship I would shave it off. Its not up to her though. Do what you want to do and what you think is best for your relationship
