I think in the long run we will get out sooner, years sooner than a failed GOP plan. It's what the people want. I think people are finally tired of the ignorance and rhetorical 'stay the course' plan. I'm certainly glad to see it!

I think they will set up a timetable. In other words in one year so many troops will come home. This is the only way we are ever going to get out of Iraq. The leaders there have had 3 years and millions of dollars in aid from the US to rebuild their country.
If I had a choice I'd rather send all that money to Mexico. We could rebuild their country and create jobs and we wouldn't have all these people crossing the border. I think the US would get much more benefits from helping Mexico.

We will get out sooner than we would have under GOP rule, I think. But it won't be immediate. Democrats know as well as Republicans that we cannot simply walk away from Iraq and leave a failed state surrounded by fundamentalist enemies.

No. Democrats aren't stupid. It would be stupid to leave Iraq soon. WE HAVE TO FINISH THE JOB. I wish people would understand the situation before they beg for the troops to be pulled.

Of course not. The demos know that they cannot get out without proving the republicans right about they being the party of cut and run. Besides it isn't up to congress to make that decision. They get to give the president the permission to go to war but they don't get to withdraw that permission.

I believe that the U.S. would be pulling out of Iraq early 2008 regardless of who won.

no, the idea sounds nice bring our troops home. but politicians know way more then we do. and i am sure there is no way we can bring them all home. i know they will probably reduce the number that are there and being sent there.
