It's been 9 months, since my hubby & I have heard from his child's mother..we haven't talked to her, don't know where she's at, and what's going on with her. Keep in mind, my husband, don't have ANY rights! NOT even on the birth cert. all he does is pay child support & insurance..well..until our child(ren) are born, then It's going to drop..We have proof of her neglecting the child..photos, and witnesses..our problem, is that she lives in Clarksvile,TN and we live in Northwest, Florida.. what can we do? we both fear for this child life..He's only 21 months old, and we're MUCH more stable then what she Is right now. any advice can be helpful! thanks a bunch!

for the record, he has family & friends, up in TN, he has a paternity test, that was done in 2005 when the child was born, but as far as, name on the brith cert. or the child having his last name, doesn't exisit, she has filed ALL AGAINST IT!! and my husband was NOT aware of ANY court dates or costs..The child support & insurance will go down b/c we are having twins, and in the state of TN, she will only get about half of what she's getting now..she has no job, and has NO family..they all live in MO..where we think she could be..but I still look forward to ANY help or advice anyone can give me..even feel free to IM me on Yahoo! Messenger!

I'd seek legal advice. May be there is some forms that can be filed in your state and that will give him the right to go to TN and get the authorities there to go with when he picks up the child.

But it will be hard to prove if his name isn't on the certificate.

Report, report report to the authorities, when ANY child is in danger .One thing that im thinking is how did you get photos? She doesnt live nearby and why does his support drop once your child(ren) are born? I reserve my judgment for not enough information but still stick to report if a child is in danger.

Call 1-800- 4ACHILD. You'll get a recording at first, but you can eventually talk to a live person. Tell them your concerns and they will call social services in Clarksville. SS is required to investigate within 48 hours.

You need to take this problem to the CPS in your area along with photos and whatever proof you have. Im sure that they will agree that the child has been abandoned by his mother as well as neglected. You and your husband should have no trouble gaining custody once and for all...........good luck

Well, a DNA test speaks volumes more than a name on a birth certificate. I'd seek legal council, get a paternity test, and see if you can get that little boy out of there ASAP.

Make a report to the Dept. of Children & Families; give them copies of everything you have.
