How often have you seen signs by the roadside, "Prepare to Meet God?"
Such signs can be seen nearly everywhere one travels and have no doubt
been erected by some very sincere religious individual or group.
Obviously the intent of such signs is to warn all that there is an
eventual appointment we must keep -- that appointment is with Almighty God. It is good to be warned -- it is better to heed the warning.
There is an appointment that far and away excels any and all earthly
appointments -- that is the appointment every accountable being who ever
has or ever will live on earth has with Almighty God. "And inasmuch as
it is appointed for men to die once and after this comes judgment, so
Christ also, having been offered once to bear the sins of many, shall
appear a second time for salvation without reference to sin, to those
who eagerly await Him" (Hebrews 9:26-27). Far too many of us think very
little of this simple fact of life. We see others daily meetin

Jinenglish,
We ought to be sure of our calling.
Once life is gone and our flame goes out, there is no hope at all. The decision made now to reject God is made completely irreversible by death.

Shirley,
I know you don't reject God.
Those of us who may reject God in this life will also be rejected by Him. The beloved Paul wrote, "And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do
those things which are not convenient" (Romans 1:28).
make YOUR election sure.

Mebandibee,
Wonderful for you!
One who is determined to reject God ejects all knowledge of God from
their thinking. Some even try to convince themselves that there is no
God. The Psalmist called such a person a fool. "The fool has said in
his heart, there is no God" (Psalm 14:1). Surely such a person is not
in a position to meet God.
Continue to strive for the crown.

Lady blue face,
Continue to pray for those that are not.
Certainly a man may be good, as viewed by the world, even if he never obeys Christ, but as far as God is concerned he is far from being good.
One who rejects Christ, the great sacrifice He made, and the love of God that sent Him into the world, is not really good. Such a one does not love God, nor live for Christ; he lives his life as a passive servant of the Devil. A man says he is willing to recognize God and the authority
of Christ in only one area of his life; he is willing to live by God's standard of right and wrong in the moral realm, but is unwillingto
allow God Almighty to determine and direct his life in the spiritual realm is in fact rejecting God completely. There is no way one can partially serve the Lord.

VXNova,
You have wisely said.
Since all have sinned and the penalty for sin is eternal destruction in the infernal regions of Hell, all are doomed unless some provision is made whereby we can meet God in peace. That provision came by God's grace through His Son Jesus Christ. John wrote, "grace and truth came
through Jesus Christ" (John 1:17). Peter wrote, "as to this salvation, the prophets who prophesied of the grace that would come to you made careful search and inquiry, seeking to know what person or time the Spirit of Christ within them was indicating as He predicted the
sufferings of Christ and the glories to follow" (I Peter 1:10-11).
