Tauhid. Sometimes spelt Tawheed or Tawhid (means the oness of Allah). You want to learn about Islam, then learn about Allah. That is the most important thing abt Islam and the foundation of Islam.
Make sure anything you read about Islam is backed up by the Noble Quran and Authentic sunnah (legal ways of the prophet) Sahih Al bukhari, Sahih Muslim. There are others too but not everything in them is strong or authentic. The scholars know which ones they are.
The Islamic creed series by Umar Al ashqar is really good. There are 8 books in this series. Its about
Vol 1) The belief in Allah
Vol 2) The world of the noble Angels
Vol 3) The world of jinns and devils
Vol 4) The messengers and the message
Vol 5) The minor ressurection part1
The Day of ressurection the final day part 2
Paradise and hell the final day
Vol 6) Divine will and Predestination
Kitab at Tauhid by Muhammad ibn (or bin) Abdul Wahab
Explanation of the 3 fundamental principle of Islam by Muhamma ibn Saalih al Uthaymeen.
Tafsir ibn Kathir. Its an explanation of the Quran In volumes. (ts quite pricey) if you know any muslims who have this, then lend it from them. (there is a dodgy one going around so be careful. The one from darussalam is good.

If the Koran doesn't move you spiritually enough, nothing else will...
In learning more about the moral code [or the parables] of the Islam faith--or the Arabian peoples in general--check out other reading materials such as the tales of Scheharazade in "1000 and One Arabian Nights" or the poetry of Kahlil Gilbran that are commonly available in bookstores.
Otherwise, you'll have to learn to read and write in Farsi, too, for more reading materials.
Peace be with you.

This book was given an award by the government of Pakistan, and selected as the best biography of the Prophet in English at the National Seerat Conference in Islamabad in 1983. In 1990, after the book had attracted the attention of Azhar University, the author received a decoration from president Mubarak.

the koran speaks of the book
thats a must read
remember its not speaking about this book because it was first spoken
then in time foermed onto pages ,bark ,leaves then the book you are now reading became a book too
but the oruigonal words spoke of the book a must read because the new book expands on the old book.
