Lay a towel over a pillow, lay down on your side, and pour a capful of peroxide in your ear. Pour slowly. It will be cold and bubble like crazy and feel awful, but it will clean out that infection. When it stops bubbling (or when you can't stand it any more) roll over so it drains onto the towel and get any thing still left in there with a Q-tip. Repeat for the other side.
It seems awful if you've never tried it, but it works better than anything.
Also, try a decongestant.

Rub some Ben Gay or other smelly analgesic balm under your nose and it will open up your sinus quickly. Also take some Sudafed Tablets from your pharmacy. You will shrink the nasal passages and the ear tubes will open up.
I would not use the hydrogen peroxide as another person recommended unless the problem is caused by ear wax.

Sometimes an ear infection can disguise itself as a simple cold.
Your sinuses connect your nose, mouth, ears, and tear ducts together. It could be a number of things - a sinus infection, a cold, an ear infection, and so forth.
Contact your doctor if you experience pressure, a fever, pain (dull or severe), dizziness, or nausea.
