hi i have a major issue and i am 17 and i wanna be in a youth groupo where i learn. I found one but now i have to face the facts that if i leave my old youth that i will leave all the little kids without a real role model and i will lose all the youth retreats where i grow most. What can i do?

Wow, I really admire your desire to learn. I know the dilemma!
We've faced it with our kids. Some Youth Groups are more like social clubs rather than a place to learn about Jesus.

And when I was a teen in youth group there was no teaching at all. We had a lot of fun. Went a lot of cool places, but they let so many kids pass through that program without a clue, what a shame. Not coming from a Christian home, that was a place where I could have learned about my need for salvation. As it is I was 34 before I received Christ as savior.

So having said all of that, here is a suggestion. If the youth group that you are thinking of leaving isn't open to suggestions about making changes and having the gospel presented and a bible study time, I would go to the other. Being fed with the Word is really important. OR if you stay at the old one, find a bible study to join. I teach bible study for teens and kids. I can help you with ideas and resources if you'd like. Feel free to email me.

I would let the youth pastor of the one you are thinking of leaving know why. Maybe he will realize that if learning is important to you, there are probably others in your group hungering after the Word.

"Blessed are those who hunger and thirst for righteousness, for they shall be satisfied" Matthew 5:6

Keep us posted here on yahoo!answers with how it goes!!!
Thanks

Try to attend both. Follow your heart first. You can attend both if you so desire. But, then where you really want to be will be were you end up. Most times, our beginning isn't where we are supposed to be forever. You're growing spiritually and maybe God has something for you in the "new" youth group.

Go where you feel God is callin you. Sometimes we have to move on to the next step of the plan God has for us. There is a time to teach and a time to learn. Go where God tells you, and when you leve that old youth group, someone else will take your place. YOu must be where God wants you. He places us someplaces permanently, and other places temporarily to then moveon to more. Let God be your guide, and you will be fine. God bless you.... OBey God and all else falls into place.

Maybe you can have the best of both worlds. Maybe you can be in both youth groups.

You need to seek God where the Christian youth group is where God wants you.

Ask God in spirit and truth & without doubting. God will give you wisdom. It has to be a bible faith based Christian group.

Life is a trade-off.
What is more important:
Staying a role model or progressing with your personal life?
Hard choice!
Still, its a choice.
You will always wonder if you made the right one.

You can do both.
I've gone to several churches. Eventually you'll stay at where you like best.
