If you don't want her to treat you like a brother quit acting like one. You don't get girls to like you by creating closeness, you get it by creating sexual tension. If you want to be more than friends you can not become a friend. You become an acquaintance that flirts a lot and gives her a hard time. Quit trying to please her, quit trying to be what you think she wants. Be yourself, be independent, don't be clingy to her. Good luck getting out of the friend zone. You usually don't escape it.

I can relate to her and I know it must be horrible to hear that if you are a guy. Usually why I say that to a guy is because I actually do see him a brother. I care deeply about that person, but not in a romantic way. Plus, I can tell that person anything and I feel comfortable around him. If you are happy being someone she can confide in and talk to, then you're good to go in this situation. But if you can't help but to have strong feelings for her in a romantic sense, just be honest with her. She may feel the same and is trying to hide it or she is actually being honest with you. Be prepared for either response. Good luck.

Because you are being one of their girl friends, not a guy with balls.
What happens is that when you meet the person, you try to be their friend more than a guy who's into them. You check up on their feelings, willing to do anything for them with nothing in return, bla bla bla. It gives them a chance to get anything from you for free. If you think hard enough, I'm sure you can think of a girl or two like that for you.
Don't get to emotionally close when you first meet them. Don't do anything for free without some give back. Don't talk to them a lot when you first meet them. Make yourself scarce, it makes interest and attraction. Flirt with them, tell them that they want you and to stop flirting with you.
Once you're in as the friend, you can never go back.

i do have close male friends who I think a lot of. Females flirt with the mates, but it doesnt necessarily mean they fancy them. Females use this as a form of communication, where as u men think it has a deeper meaning!
If she is such a good friend then please dont punish her by going quiet on her.
Good luck my friend

She probably means she loves you in a non-sexual, non-relationship way. If you fancy her, you really have a problem and a chance of ruining a friendship. If you just want to stay as her mate, it's a just good thing.

There's either chemistry or there's not. It's hard when one person feels it and the other doesn't...I've definitely been there on both sides. You need to respect her wishes and just be a friend to her, but that doesn't mean at some point in the future she won't develop different feelings for you, but I'd move on at this point.
You didn't do anything wrong, so please don't blame yourself.

no...you not getting it....when she says your like a brother to her it means she values you as almost family (close, bonded)...not what you think...i have a male mate who's like a brother to me...i love him to bits....but we are in no means romantically linked....were just very close...he's better than some of the female mates sometimes....great person to be with...that's what this girl is saying to you....you THOUGHT she fancied you....well...seems not my dear....stay being her friend she's happy that way

It's mainly the best friend thing. You develop such a bond and connect so well that it feels like you've known each other forever -- therefor you're a bit like a brother for her.
You can always tell her you want more.

That's a good thing. Basically, it just means she "loves" you on a different level. But don't worry, more times than not, that level is the best to be loved on. That kind of love doesn't stop, or break-up with you, etc. It's there forever.
