Has any big charity ever got the result it was set up for and disbanded?

By big I mean not a local one to raise money for a certain persons medical bills or the like but one the size of the WWF or medic san frontiers.

The only one that comes to mind is back when a massive amount of doctors, nurses, volunteers, set out and successfully spread themselves around the globe vaccinating people for Polio.
They vaccinated in rings and rushed to every hot spot if they heard of outbreak. I think that's how small pox was was wiped from planet. (except idiots who weaponize strands in government facilities).. They disbanded. When mission was accomplished.
