There are many worse kibbles to feed your dog, however, I used to feed Nutro Natural Choice, when the choices were fewer. The main problem I had with it was the amount of tartar build up on their teeth..I am feeding Canidae now, and wouldn't switch..Sparkling clean teeth, fresher breath, and my eldery dogs have been rejuvenated since I switched foods..
I had to have a cyst ( from rabies vaccination site) removed from my dog, who was then 10 years old..The vet was amazed at her bloodwork..He said that it was that expected in a 4-5 year old..He was so excited that he brought out the charts to show me..

It's a better choice than some, however it isn't the best there is. The premium high quality foods aren't going to be found at chain petstores (petsmart, petco, petland if you're in the US). You'll have to go to an independent pet/feed store to find the best quality foods. I have my dog on Wellness and EVO mix. Just a little price comparison for you: I get a 26lb bag of Wellness for $45 and an 6.6lb bag of EVO for $17. Although that amounts to $62, my dog takes a month to go through that amount of food and she's a doberman. I find with the higher quality food her coat looks great, she's staying trim yet very muscled and her teeth look great and her eyes are bright and clear. It's worth it to me to know my dog is getting the best I can afford and this will hopefully prevent many diseases later on as she ages.

Natural Choice is okay but it is NOT the best food out there.
Natural Choice contains the following ingredients that should not be in dog food:
-Rice flour
-Rice bran
-Beet pulp
-Poultry fat
-Soybean oil
-Dried egg product
These ingredients make up the bulk of the food so I would never feed it to my pets.
I feel that Natura makes the best quality foods (Innova, Karma, Evo, etc). I have yet to find a food that surpasses the quality of ingredients AS WELL as the integrity of the company.
Here are the ingredients of Innova Puppy:
Turkey
Chicken
Chicken Meal
Ground Barley
Ground Brown Rice
Cottage Cheese
Tomatoes
Sunflower Oil
Chicken Fat
Natural Flavors
Flaxseed
Potatoes
Herring
Apples
Carrots
Alfalfa Sprouts
Egg
Garlic
Innova is made with ONLY whole, fresh, human grade ingredients and is produced only after it has been ordered.
When looking for the highest quality foods you need to stay away from:
-food fractions (example - flours, brans, middling, pomace, hulls, startch, etc)
-Potentially harmful or non nutritional ingredients/fillers (corn in any form, beet pulp, beef, salt, yucca, soya, wheat, etc)
-Generic ingredients (meat, animal, poultry, etc)
-By-products (these are feet, feathers, beeks, organs, and contain no meat)
-Chemical preservatives (BHA/BHT, ethoxyquin, etc)
There is so much information about pet foods these days it really is hard to figure out what foods are good or bad. Just think about it this way...
When looking at the ingredients would you eat it (if it wasn't in dog food format!) ? If it doesn't sound appealing or healthy to you...don't feed it to your dog.
Anyways, if you want more information about Innova go to www.naturapet.com. They have some great tools that let you compare different types of foods and to find out what certain ingredients are.

I feed my Boston Terrier Natural Choice puppy food, and so far I can't find anything better. You can get some that helps with hair shedding, upset stomache, shiny coats, and since I started her on it, she hasn't had a problem. Natural Choice, I think is #1.

The best dog food depends primarily on how your dogs react to it. I love Nutro!!! I have tried more expensive brands and even prescription foods and they made my dogs breath and coat awful, so I switched back. You want to make sure "meat" is the first or second ingredient and it is listed again within the next 4 ingredients. No by-products!!!

It gave me dog the runs and he would also throw-up a white supstance. I thought it was him but when I changed his food it all stopped.
He eat's "Blue" now. It makes him go to the bathroom more but his poop it solid and he seems to like the taste of Blue much more.
