he is a friend of mine but since i see him on a daily basis I don't want to risk messing things up...so I thought maybe I would pretend I was going to see my boyfriend this weekend to see how he reacts...

It could go both ways but I've seen more good than bad come out of this. The best way to know if someone like you is to just ask them. Relationships are not a game and when you play a game then it will hurt someone in longrun.

everyone thinks that would be an awesome idea, but what if u do it and he doesnt care? OUCH! #1 ASK HIM! #2 get a friend to ASK HIM! #3 walk past him w/ some friends and be like "OMG! is pick a name HOTT or WHAT?" or #4 dont do anything and wonder for the rest of ur life

A bad one, for sure.
If I were you, I'd just go ahead and ask him! But be careful about the way you do it, because if he only likes you as a friend things could be awkward later on.

Although it might work, I'd say it's a bad idea. He might just decide that you must not be interested in him. If you like this guy, you should try to help him figure it out.

I think it'll push him away.
Because he'll think "Oh, she's with someone else now."
And if he's a good guy, he won't do anything because he just wants to see you happy.
If you want to see if he really likes you, just play a little hard to get.
Nothing with jealousy.
But hard to get. : }

how are you going to make him jealous? hook up with another dude he knows or talk to a bunch of guys?
not so much of a good idea...
then hes going to think less of you...
and more like a wh0re, then he'll talk to you...

all you do is make yourself look like a **** trying to make someone jealous.. why not just ask him? if your not mature enough to do that your not mature enough to be in a relationship

love more your best friend instead of putting others mind in trouble unnecessarily. you can say in words but not really do it for your self.
