All dogs should be fed twice a day. It is much better for them and for their digestive systems. Toy/small dogs defiantely need to be fed twice a day , because they are very prone to low blood sugar and can become quite ill.

I've done major studies on canines and eating/nutrition and I've been involved in the vet field for over 30 years. All dogs should be fed twice a day. Many bouts of diarreha, vomiting of bile etc can be eliminated by feeding twice daily.Toy dogs especially can have some major issues if not fed at least twice daily.

U should feed it twice a day beacuse that's its breakfast and dinner. Almost like a human being fed only once a day and not 2 or 3. Ur dog could wind up being hungry if fed once. Cause it has to go through 24 hrs. And if it's only fed once then it wouldn't be happy.

I have a small dog and I feed it twice a day 1/4 cup each feeding. some days she eats the second one and other days she doesn't I would not want her to go hungry and she cant talk.

Contrary to all the morons posting you should feed your dog at least twice a day to keep it regulated...You can feed your dog once a day and it will be fine.

It is instinctual behavior since in their natural settings they would be successful in only 25% of hunts.

Yes, if your dog gorges it can cause intestinal issues or inverted stomachs but if your dog is not a gorger than feeding it once a day is just fine.

I have a puppy and an adult large breed dog and I feed them each once in the morning before I go to class. I would talk to your vet about how much to feed seeing as how that is what is most important.

Dogs need to be fed twice a day to keep their body working and regulated, just the same as humans. Size is irrelevant.

Small as in size or as in age ??? If in size, if your dog is no longer a puppy then it's fine. But if he's barely a puppy i'd say stick to the twice a day. If your puppy is not fed properly he'll be sad.

It is better to regulate a small dog's blood sugar to feed twice daily, to avoid hypoglycemic episodes.
