Also, will clicking on "format" delete what is currently on my flash drive?

It usually means that the Operating System of the computer you are working on does not recognise the type of format on your USB flash drive.

You can check this by plugging in the Flash drive and then looking in "My Computer" or the "Control Panel" to see if the drive is listed as a drive.

A Mac USB drive will usually not see one for Windows XP and the opposite. A Windows 98 or Linux System will not recognise either one of these.

The format could have been damaged if the drive was removed while being written to. See the sites below:

formatting basically means wiping it clear. If you don't have anything on the flash drive (and if you do take it off and save it to your computer hard-drive) format it (should be able to right-click and select format. After this you should be able to save your powerpoint file onto the USB drive.

You have to format the flash drive to be compatible. You can do that several ways. Go to My Computer, Control panel and click on the removable drive.

Ok. it means you have to go to my computer, than right click on the icon that says "Removeable Object" (It may say something different, but it's the icon that isn't there when your flash drive isn't plugged in). There should be a choice on the menu that comes up that says "Format". If not, sorry. That's all I know.

Has the flash drive been used on a Mac or a PC? If it is a drive that was formatted previously on a Mac then when you place it into a PC that message will appear.
