When I mean invention- I mean like Television, Computer, and Airplane.......What is the next huge invention? My guess is flying cars. Or maybe something like a kite. Where you Strap yourself in- and you fly wherever you need to be (no cars, traffic, or stop lights,) What do you think?

When you say Big Invention, I will consider that to mean something that fundamentally changes our way of life - This statement is true for Television, Computers, Airplanes, etc... But for flying car? It might be more convenient, but it wouldn't add anything so huge that I would consider it Big. After all flying cars do exist, just they are too expensive / not enough damand for them that they have become available to the public.

So I go back to my definition to think about what invention is on the horizon that would drastically change the way we live. I think it would be something in medicine (stem cell research, gene therapy, bionics...). I believe we are not that far away from a time when most diseases become curable.

I think people invent stuff because they need it badly. At this moment in time, I don't need anything. A computer was invented because somebody needed help with math. Airplane was invented because somebody wanted to fly. Television was invented because. I don't know why. Do you really need a flying car? Does it have to be a car? A kite might be fun. What do you need badly?

As Far as I'm Concerned, a fully self-sustaining fusion reactor, or a power/propulsion system that doesn't pollute. if it was a computer or type of computer, A computer that uses a processing system similar to a human neural network(or cerebral cortex) where several million processors act as one processor to complete the function required several hundred or even thousand times faster.
